Posted by: Brian | Comments (0)

I met with Tracy and Justin and he is doing so well. Just back from the Bahamas where he got to see sharks and swim with the Dolphins. He was so excited to show us all the photos. Thanks to Children’s Wish. Justin in Florida

What an incredible feeling. The Concert at Angus Glen for Tracy and Justin Grant was an enormous success. By the time we are done, and we are not done yet, donations are still coming through the link on the Bio Page of
www.BrianRoman.com,  we will be close to $30,000 for Tracy and Justin.
This would not have been possible without the support of some great people. I would like to acknowledge some people who made contributions to this amazing initiative. First let me say that it did not start with me.
  • Lisa and Ernie from the Loblaw’s McCowan Market brought the idea and desire to raise money for Tracy and Justin to my attention. Thanks to them for being good friends to Tracy and Justin and wanting to help them out, that is always a great place to start. All I did was take their desire and pass it on to all of you. With one email we sold over 600 tickets to the concert, thank you all for stepping up and helping out.
  • Scott Forrestall of Catech gave a sponsorship to cover the cost of sound and lighting.
  • Harry James and Sam Maduri of PetraSoap gave a sponsorship to cover the costs of the band and supporting vocalists. Thank you all.
  • Angus Glen donated the hall for the night.
  • The Markham Economist & Sun ran a front page story.
  • Rogers TV did a news interview for us.
  • City TV talked about it on BT.
  • The Unionville Men’s Rec. Sports Leagues stepped up and Bill Dawson and Anthony Colangelo sold dozens of tickets and got Children’s Wish involved and as a result Justin will be going to see the Sharks, his favourite, in the Bahamas. Thank you all.
  • Loblaw made a donation of $5000.00. Thank you.
  • The Royal Bank gave a contribution. Thank you.
  • Brian Arrigo of Southern Corporate Packers Florida/Kitchener Ont. gave a contribution. Thank you.
  • Harry James and Allan Kennedy “Forty Something”, great singers and performers, donated their time and talent.
  • Susan Brown also a very talented singer, donated her time and talent.
  • Rich Robbins, a great motivational speaker and life coach, donated his time and talent. Thank you Rich.
  • George Sands and Mayor Frank Scarpitti gave of their time, talent.
  • Celia Love of Blessington,Love Publicist gave her time, talent and services.
  • Perry and Joanne Ianuzzi of Pure Design and Marketing gave of their time, talent and services. Thank you all.

We have received donations from across Canada and the Untied States and the UK..Wow how cool is that…the power of the human spirit coupled with technology..Thank you all.

Donations are still coming in so we will leave the donation link on the Bio page of www.BrianRoman.com up for now. Those of you wanting to make a contribution can do so. Thanks

The photo you see above was taken by my friend Paul Ma.
Paul donates his time, skill  and passion as a photographer, to many events that I do. Thank you Paul. I will cherish this photo for the rest of my life.
You see at the beginning of the evening Justin seemed a bit overwhelmed, maybe shy but about 3/4’s through the show he stood up and asked me if he could sing. Wow..maybe he forgot there were hundreds of people in the room.
I sat down on the stage, handed him the microphone and whispered. “Ok Justin turn around so they can see you”  then he stood for a moment before he started to sing. “Go ahead little man” I said softly and this is the very moment that Paul has captured in this photograph. Justin did an awesome rendition of “You’re Beautiful”
With gratitude and humility, Brian

Hello all and thank you;

Yesterday Ernie Mallia called in a bit of a panic to tell me to take the ticket purchase button down from www.BrianRoman.com.

He said that we had sold all 600 seats for the benefit concert on July 2nd, in just under a week.

Thank you to all of you for your support for Justin and Tracy and I look forward to seeing you on July 2nd.

Here is the photo from the weekend in the Economist & Sun.

Hello Everyone and welcome;
I have had so many requests to help out with this benefit for Justin Grant on July 2nd at Angus Glenn in Markham. I am truly grateful to all of you, but I do want to make something clear. I didn’t start this, I merely took the ball from someone else and then put it out there for all of you. What has resulted is a great testament to the human spirit. What is happening is the result of people coming together to show we care.

The man who deserves the credit for getting this going is Ernie Mallia, the grocery manager at the Loblaw McCowan Market in Markham Ontario. Ernie is a great example of selfless kindness and thoughtfulness. I am sure that Loblaw’s is quite proud of Ernie, he is representing well what I think Loblaw’s and the Weston family stand for, making life better for everyone…..
One of Justin's favourite things to do is to play video games on his laptop.
When we first decided to do the concert we thought it might be cool to raise $20,000.00 for Justin’s mom Tracy to be able to stay off work for a while and be with her son. However with the outpouring of public support I think our goal will now be $100,000.

Thanks Ernie. Let’s make this a great night for Justin.
